Getting Started

This guide is meant to provide resources to get you started in research. Types of materials covered in this guide include reference materials and books in print and online. Reference materials are primarily secondary sources. For primary sources check the catalog for works written by your chosen author. Anytime a source can be found in the catalog on this guide you will find the following button. When clicked, the catalog record for that item will open in a new page.

To get started:

Find reference materials for a general overview of your topic, be sure to check bibliography for more sources and ideas.

Use a book for a broad in-depth overview, historical context or primary sources.

Click the respective tab to the left for more detailed information on finding online and print materials for each source type. Or click on a research plan tab for a way to guide your research process.
